We slowly sloshed our way out of the park, stopping to watch some of the bands play. We did see the Tree of Life awake as we got to the front of the park, it was really amazing. This was the first time we had been in Animal Kingdom after dark.
This was becoming the norm for our bedtime routine, all tips my mom gets from Liners. But it was getting harder and harder to dry out our newspaper.
With all the last minute changes to Disney’s schedule we were back to the Magic Kingdom again today. It was a little showery, but nothing compared to last night. We did my favourite rides again, had lunch at the Beast’s Castle. Margaret has decided that La Fou’s Brew was a good way to wait out the rain, me I liked to do the Under the Sea ride.
This was the trip that Margaret was going to keep her head up on Splash Mountain. It took a few rides and a few days but she made it. I love to laugh at Margaret when we get to the big drop.
Tonight we were going to Luau Cove for the show. Usually we go to HDDR, but this was another new adventure. I think we agreed it was good, but we will be headed back to the Hoop for some chicken and ribs next trip.
The skies were threatening but we made it back to MK and the ferry boat to the campgrounds. Just as we getting to our bus stop, this is what we heard. It is different in the United States, all cell phones received the message at the same time.
We headed inside, called it a night. This was not the trip for roasting marshmallows. Overnight Hermine hit the area, a lot of falling debris in the campground. Thank fully there was no real damage to the area, and the ground crews were hard at work the next day.
Friday September 2, was our day to go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Margaret fixed up my wheelchair with some lights, I was to look like R2-D2 on a speed racer. It was too wet for Margaret’s BB-8 costume, so she settled for Darth Vader, mom wore a Star Wars t-shirt. Off we went with our fingers crossed. We did some rides and went to Liberty Tree Tavern for a late lunch. The Ooey Gooey Toffee cake was great, kept us going until trick or treat time.
We kept up our lucky streak with another code Alpha on the Mine Train, half way up the steep rise. My mom and Margaret had a bit of trouble getting out. I had the help of three of Reddy Creeks best rescue persons. A ride down in a stair climber chair, and we were off with extra FPPs.
Saturday September 3, still a bit of rain. We went to Disney Springs and tried out T-Rex, we took the boat to French Quarter. Mom and I are going to stay here in November. Margaret thought the Mardi Gras clowns were pretty cool. We hopped on a bus and headed to Hollywood Studios. It was time to do my favourite rides, meet some Star Wars characters and then it was off to Club Villain at the request of my sister.
We went to EPCOT, enjoying the new Frozen Ever After ride again. Hollywood Studios to check out the new star wars fireworks. They were amazing and it did not rain. Margaret did a little pod racing and I was trading with the Jawas. They really liked my shiny ride.
My trip was coming to an end, we went back to the Magic Kingdom had breakfast with Pooh and the gang. We checked out the Jungle Navigation Ltd. Skippers Canteen. It was funny because the server remembered us from the winter. I hope that is a good thing, I try to keep my food from jumping off my plate……. but sometimes it gets away from me. Margaret wrote her a really cool thank you note.
We went back to EPCOT to try and catch IllumiNations, the firework show. It rained, but we watched anyway. My mom got us both CROCS to wear next hurricane season. We finished our trip slightly damp and with a new meet and greet.
I managed to bring back enough snacks for my new friends and some for my old classmates. I think I speak (haha) for us all when I say this was a great trip.
