MAGIC KINGDOM - Top 10 "must do's" (kids)

MAGIC KINGDOM
Top 10 "must do's"
for elementary age kids

1.  Walt Disney World Railroad

Walt Disney was a lifelong train enthusiast, including having his very own backyard train at home!  The Walt Disney World Railroad has stations throughout the Magic Kingdom including the Main Street Station, the Frontierland Station & the New Fantasyland Station.  The 1.5 mile track takes you on a beautiful, scenic tour of the Magic Kingdom in a way that would have been Walt's favorite!

2.  Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
This interactive ride/game is a fun competition to see who can help defeat the Evil Emperor Zurg! It's as easy as pointing and shooting a special laser gun attached to the ride car.  To infinity and beyond!

3.  Splash Mountain (must be 40" tall to ride)

Splash mountain is a log-flume ride that takes you through the story of the 1946 Disney classic, "Song of the South."  Travel with Br'er Rabbit as he races to escape Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox.  This ride ends with a thrilling five story drop into the brier patch.  Make sure to take a seat in the back of the log if you only want to get slightly wet.  If getting soaked is more your speed, then sit in the front.

4.  The Barnstormer (must be 35" tall to ride)
The Barnstormer in the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland is a great introductory roller coaster for children.  Goofy takes you on a airplane ride in good-old Goofy fashion...through the side of the barn!

5.  Mickey's PhilharMagic
This 3D musical journey through some of the most well loved Disney classics is a must for Disney music lovers.  The show includes songs from Peter Pan, The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and more!

6.  Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid
In the new area of Fantasyland is a new ride, Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid.  This attraction takes you through the story of the Little Mermaid in your very own clam-mobile.  Enjoy the sites and sounds of this beloved classic as you go "Under the Sea"!

7.  Haunted Mansion
The Haunted Mansion is one of the first omnimover rides ever built, and is considered a Disney classic!  This good-humored ghost story is lots of fun.  However, keep your child's fears in mind when deciding whether or not to ride.

8.  Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (must be 40" tall to ride)
Walt Disney was the ultimate train enthusiast, and this fact is evident throughout Disney parks worldwide.  It's only fitting that one of the big Magic Kingdom thrill rides is based on Walt's love of trains.  Big Thunder Mountain railroad is a coaster that winds through the mountains and canyons of the wild frontier!  Watch out, there are even a few dinosaur fossils peaking out of the canyon walls.

9.  Pirates of the Caribbean
Yo-ho, yo-ho a pirates life for me!  Pirates of the Caribbean was one of the last ride designs worked on by Walt Disney himself.  This classic dark, boat ride takes you through the pirate experience with animatronic pirates galore.  There are even a few appearances by Captain Jack Sparrow!

10.  Wishes Nighttime Spectacular
There's no better way to end a magical Disney day than with fireworks over the castle!
