In 1998 "The Festival of the Lion King" (a musical review, broadway-type show) opened along with the opening of Walt Disney World's 4th park, Animal Kingdom. The show continues to play in WDW Animal Kingdom today, and there are plans for an all new theater in the park to house "The Festival of the Lion King" which will open in 2014.
