This is the first in a series of upcoming posts about my recent visit to Hong Kong Disneyland! My husband and I had the opportunity to visit this seven year old Disney park in the beginning of May, and we had a wonderful time.
Getting to Hong Kong Disneyland is an adventure in and of itself. During our trip to Hong Kong, we stayed in the Kowloon area just across the street from the main Hong Kong train station (Hung Hom station). Hong Kong Disneyland is situated on a separate island, Lantau Island, which is also the location of the Hong Kong International Airport. The most efficient way to get to Hong Kong Disneyland (cost, ease & time) was taking the subway.
We had to switch train lines a few times, but it was quite easy. The coolest part...Disney has it's own train line for the last leg of the trip! The Sunny Bay Disneyland Resort Line is awesome!!!
Of course the Disneyland Resort Line is completely themed and full of Disney magic! I just love that Disney puts you directly in the middle of the magic before you even walk through the gates!
The subway train is complete with Classic Mickey shaped windows, plush cushioned couches, character statues and Mickey shaped rings for standing passengers.

notice the tops of the rings are reminiscent of Mickey's shorts |
The Disneyland train station is wonderfully grand! The columns are Sorcerer Mickey Hats, there are beautiful palm trees and ferns everywhere, and it is immaculate.
Finally, we made it to the park entrance! What a dream come true!
Beautiful, instrumental versions of Disney favorites fill the air as a magnificent water fountain comes into view when you walk under the entrance sign and toward the ticket gate. Mickey surfs up and down over a whale, and all of Mickey's pals are joining in the fun as well. A magical site indeed!
HAVE A MAGICAL DISNEY DAY!
